Wiggle Gray Drake

The Wiggle Gray Drake fly pattern is a popular dry fly pattern used by fly fishermen  and women to imitate the Ephemerella dorothea infrequens, a species of mayfly commonly found in North American streams and rivers.

This fly is typically tied on a size 10-14 hook and features a distinctive extended body and hackle that give it a lifelike appearance.

The finished Wiggle (Gray) Drake fly has a slender, extended body, a hackle collar that gives the fly movement, and a thorax that adds bulk to the fly.

This pattern is particularly effective during hatch periods when gray or brown mayflies are emerging.

It can be fished in a variety of water conditions, including slow-moving streams and stillwater ponds.
