Description
White Miller Fly
The White Miller fly pattern is a mid to late summer pattern in Eastern and Mid Western regions of the USA . It works very well. Having the Calf tail which looks like the shuck of the dun phase makes it float very well. The White Miller pattern can imitate a number of food sources for trout, including white midges in the smallest hook sizes and predominantly the adult stage of the mayfly genus Ephoron leukon. Â
When conditions are right, the White Miller can be quite prodigious and is a very effective pattern on smallmouth bass that will set up in feeding lanes, just like trout. This pattern can be used to fish in slower water, at around dusk and dawn.
