Royal Coachman Trude
The Royal Coachman Trude is an excellent attractor and searching pattern which can also work as a caddis imitation. It has a calf body hair wingm a golden pheasant crest tail with peacock and floss body and a heavily hackled thorax making a fly that floats well and looks great. It is credited to Carter H. Harrison of Chicago, Illinois who tied it in the summer of 1901.
It can be fished with either a skittered presentation which is the most popular or with a drag-free drift.
