Little Brook Trout
The Little Brook Trout fly pattern is one a series of patterns originated by Samuel R. Slaymaker II of Gap, Pennsylvania in the late 1950’s.
Having studied the natural trout fry, Mr. Slaymaker created a natural looking imitation using dyed bucktail. The hairs that make up the wing are blended slightly. It is an effective fly for use on trout.
This fly can easily fool any trout that you put it in front of.
It can be presented to fish either on a tight line swing covering water or stripped erratically fast with pauses. A great fly in the fall when one is when brook and the brown trout tend to be in their most aggressive state.
