Lady Amherst Fly
The Lady Amherst fly pattern is an Atlantic fully dressed salmon fly pattern that originated in Canada and which bears resemblance to the British classics. It is credited to George Bonbright, known for a number of streamer fly patterns and who tied it around 1925.
Originally called Bonbright #2, it’s name was changed to “Lady Amherst” due to the wing material and also to avoid confusion with another fly called “Bonbright #1” at the the time. It is dressed with a pair of pheasant tippets and tied on a salmon hook.
Usually available in hook sizes 2. 4, 6, 8 and 10
