The Cripple Pale Morning Dun (PMD) is a popular fly pattern used by anglers to imitate the hatching stages of the Pale Morning Dun mayfly.
This fly pattern is particularly effective during the cripple stage of the mayfly’s lifecycle, when the insects are struggling on the surface of the water and are particularly vulnerable to hungry fish.
The Cripple PMD typically features a body made of pale yellow or cream-colored dubbing material, with a wing made of light-colored synthetic material such as Z-Lon or Antron.
